Odours – Measurement, Prediction, Advice

The environment offers a full spectrum of pleasant odours. However, odours can become unbearable because of the frequency, or the type of odour. In most cases, measurements and predictions can help determine whether the frequency of the odour exceeds the emission levels and how they should be assessed. Relevant directives such as the Odour Emissions Guidelines are provided for that specific purpose. In addition to odour measurement and prediction at the planning stage, Müller-BBM also offers grid measurements that provide a detail assessment of the spread of odours. We also have dispersion models for predicting NH3, dust, and odorous substance concentrations that comply with the Technical Guidelines on Air Quality Control (TA Luft).

We can advise you on building and immissions control licensing of your plant and assist you in preparing the application documents. When necessary, we will work with you to determine ways to reduce emission and immission, advice you and represent you during your meetings with the authorities. We prepare environmental impact assessments (EIA) from the environmental impact studies to be used by the project owner as a decision-making document in accordance with § 6 of the Environmental Impacts Assessment Act (UVPG).
