Gelsenkirchen now is an established venue for expert talks on immission control in North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW)

After the successful debut event of 2016 some 60 new participants met in June 2017 in the conference hotel Heiner’s in Gelsenkirchen’s Nordsternpark to attend the Müller-BBM expert talks “immission control – planning and authorization in practice”.

The opening speech was given by city councillor Dr Christopher Schmitt, chairman of the board division in the city of Gelsenkichen, responsible for business development, the public utility company “Gelsendienste”, law and order and citizen services. In his speech he touched upon the peculiarities of structural change in NRW and the city of Gelsenkirchen and he found words to express his satisfaction with the investment volume of 15 million Euro for the new building of the Müller-BBM group, growing close-by at the site in Nordsternpark.

During the two conference days many topics for discussion came up from the various contributions of the speakers (among them experts from the North Rhine-Westphalia State Agency for Nature, Environment and Consumer Protection (LANUV), from the Federal Environment Agency (UBA), from PreussenElektra and Uniper, experts from the Central Federation of the German Construction Industry and top-class specialist lawyers for administrative law) – fruitful discussions providing new insights into immission control legislation for the participants from the energy sector, from industry and business, from the waste management sector and from administration.

Discussions will continue in the next round of the “6th Müller-BBM expert talks” when interested people will congregate in Berlin on 13 and 14 September 2017. Please find more information on this conference and subscription details here.
