For decades, the training and development of engineers and experts has been one of Müller-BBM’s central tasks. This active knowledge management comprises, among other things, the participation in external events, but also internal colloquia and the continuous exchange between the colleagues from all our subsidiaries. An integral part of employee development is the meeting of Müller-BBM’s environmental division: two intensive days with workshops and dialogues with employees from the environmental division from all our sites in Germany as well as representatives of our subsidiaries in Austria and Switzerland. 160 test engineers, experts, laboratory specialists and team assistents were traditionally welcomed by the management at our headquarters in Planegg on 18th and 19th January and the internal event was opened with presentations of the respective fields of work. Starting with the notified body in the field of emission measurements according to § 29b via function tests and calibration, the notified body in the field of measurements of hazardous substances, immission measurement technology and immission prognosis, also the current state with regard to olfactometry, laboratory analytics and plant safety as well as environmental impact assessments were demonstrated in the form of concise and illustrative short presentations.
In the workshops, for example the subjects of odour prognosis, meteorologicals tools and models (METRAS, GRAMM, GRAL etc.), news on ELIS-A, the amendment of the Environmental Assessment Act (UVPG), the current state of the Technical Instructions on Distance (TA Abstand), the Ordinance on Installations for the Handling of Substances Hazardous to Water (AwSV) as well as protection concepts were dealt with and discussed. Apart from a professional exchange, the meeting of Müller-BBM’s environmental sector is an occasion for new employees to get to know the complete environmental division and its employees.
