Müller-BBM's Symposium "Conflicting uses in Noise Control" in Hamburg attracted more than 70 participants

On 24 September 2015 Müller-BBM hosted the symposium "Conflicting uses in Noise Control" in Hamburg. About 70 participants came to hear lectures from the fields noise control, legally compliant site evaluations, vibration control, appropriate distances to plants with a potential risk of hazardous incidents as well as on the planned amendments to the German "Technical Instructions on Air Quality Control – TA Luft", followed by discussions with the lecturers.

Highlights were the contributions of the external lecturers with their specific perspective shaped by sound administrative experience: Mr. Torsten Wagner (Hamburg’s local authority for energy and environment), whose presentation was on experience with low-frequency noise from the viewpoint of an authority responsible for approvals and surveillance. Second guest speaker was Dr. Berthold M. Vogelsang (Lower Saxonian Ministry for the Environment and Climate Protection), giving a lecture on infrasound.

All in all, the symposium was a promising start for a series of comparable Müller-BBM events in Hamburg.
