On 9 and 10 March, almost 100 participants and speakers met in order to exchange information on the current state of air pollution control during the planning and authorisation phase. The event was opened by MDgtin Dr. Monika Kratzer from the Bavarian state ministry of the environment and consumer protection. Dr. Kratzer is Head of Department 7 for climate protection, technical environment protection and circular economy and was therefore welcomed warmly by Norbert Suritsch (member of the Management Board of the Müller-BBM Holding AG) as “our highest Bavarian air pollution controller”. In her opening speech, she emphasized with the usual in-depth expertise and with sophisticated wording the importance of exchanging experience between plant operators, consultants, municipalities and enforcement bodies

The first day of this symposium was dedicated to air pollution control with the main focus on the imminent adaption of the TA Luft (Technical Guideline on Air Quality Control) and on Clean Air Planning. Lectures by Prof. Dr. Klaus-Peter Dolde (law firm Dolde Mayen & Partner); Mathias Geißler (Government of Upper Bavaria); Walter Grotz (Müller-BBM); Dr. Ulf Janicke (Engineering Office Janicke); Dr. Peter Pluschke (City of Nuremberg), and Hermann Blomeyer (Munich Airport) were received by the auditorium with great interest and intensively discussed. The proper handling of noise immissions during municipal planning as well as the management of noise conflicts, were the main topics of the second day. In his introduction to the day’s program, managing director Joachim Bittner outlined the entire spectrum of the potential for conflict in the field of noise emission control. This statement was confirmed by the lectures of Dr. Markus Deutsch (law firm Dolde Mayen & Partner); Christian Fabris (Federal Environmental Agency (UBA)); Thomas Maly (Müller-BBM), Eva Maria Schmitz (Müller-BBM Projektmanagement), and Alexander Diehl (Brixx AG) who presented their solutions. The panel discussion with the speakers at the end of the respective days attracted an active participation of the guests and rounded off the event. The next Müller-BBM Expert Round Table will take place on 2016-06-15/16 June in Gelsenkirchen
