Designing Engine Sounds inside a Vehicle:
New Active Sound Design-Version 2.2 is now available
On February 1, 2007, Müller-BBM has released Active Sound Design version 2.2. Active Sound Design is a development tool for the automotive industry which serves for designing engine related sounds in the passenger compartment of the vehicle. The desired sound is specified at the computer and the ADS system creates the corresponding signals which, in turn, are reproduced by loudspeakers.
With the new ASD version 2.2 it is now even possible to change the engine sound interactively during the ride and to observe/monitor in real time the influence individual orders have on the overall sound characteristics. Thanks to the user convenient and clearly arranged graphic user interface, different engine sounds can be tested effortlessly and efficiently, directly in the car.
Furthermore, the new version offers better performance and the possibility of improving system stability. With these developments, Müller-BBM has successfully taken an important step towards the application of the ASD technology in series-production vehicles.
Müller-BBM has been active in the field of active systems for sound and vibration for more than 15 years and disposes of comprehensive know-how, from concepts through to realised systems. ASD has been used by leading international automotive manufacturers and component suppliers.
