Test bench for determining dynamic stiffness

To reduce the impact sound and vibration transfer from machines, they are often placed on elastic bearing elements. The effectiveness of the decoupling depends on the dynamic properties of these elements. To determine the dynamic parameters in the relevant frequency range, Müller-BBM has designed and built a test bench for determining the dynamic stiffness of resilient elements in Planegg.

The equipment was designed for testing spring elements, such as those found in railway tracks, special shipbuilding, and automotive engineering application. Other applications include elements for building suspension and testing in research and development projects.

Dynamic stiffness is usually tested as a transfer stiffness. The test specimen can be subjected to compression as well as thrust with variable dynamic forces.

Characteristics of the test bench

  • Test specimen dimensions, up to (W x D x H) 600 mm x 600 mm x 900 mm
  • maximum vertical static preload 180 kN
  • maximum amplitude of dynamic force 2 kN
