Müller-BBM helps prima donna among Italian opera houses to get a new sound
The musical inauguration of the Teatro di San Carlo in Naples turns out to be a brilliant success, also for the acousticians from Planegg/Munich.

"Everybody was in high spirits during and after the reopening in Naples, there was utmost satisfaction among the musicians and responsible parties" comments an enthusiastic Jürgen Reinhold, Müller-BBM’s responsible for room acoustics in this project. The Teatro di San Carlo is the oldest functioning opera house in Europe. It was founded in 1737 and has since been considered a neo-classical gem. Therefore, everyone involved in the project is very pleased that within only one and a half year of restoration and reconstruction the Teatro di San Carlo has recovered its beauty, and that the famous brilliance of its sound has not only been conserved, but could even be enhanced. The investment of 65 Million Euro and the improved acoustics will make sure that the Grand Dame of opera houses will once again shine brightly all across the Mediterranean area.
