The engineering company Müller-BBM has now successfully completed the transition of the BFB Büro für Baudynamik GmbH to a new branch office of the Müller-BBM GmbH, which was announced at the end of last year. After moving to new offices in Schwieberdinger Straße 62 in March 2011, the Büro für Baudynamik has now been completely integrated in the Müller-BBM GmbH under the name of "Müller-BBM branch office BFB Stuttgart" since 1st July 2011.

The founders and previous owners of the Büro für Baudynamik, Mrs. Christa Gurr-Beyer and Mr. Karlheinz Beyer, will continue to provide consulting services for the branch office and its clients.

Dr.-Ing. Edwin Schorer, managing director of the Müller-BBM GmbH, says: "Also on this occasion, we would like to express our gratitude to Mrs. Gurr-Beyer and Mr. Beyer for the excellent cooperation and for their trust. We are looking forward to a successful future together."

The scope of services offered by BFB Stuttgart includes all aspects concerning the influence of dynamic loads, especially the effects of traffic loads, machine loads, wind and earthquakes on buildings, human beings, devices and machines. On the basis of exact vibration measurements, the experts of Müller-BBM’s new branch office analyse and define vibration requirements for building projects of all kinds and offer assistance and consulting services. In case of deficiencies or rededication of already existing buildings they also provide retrofitting measures. Müller-BBM’s branch office BFB Stuttgart offers the vibration exciter DYNAQ®, which is unique in its class. Services concerning building dynamics can also be rendered by the experts in the company’s headquarters in Planegg near Munich.

Müller-BBM has taken over the whole team of the Büro für Baudynamik, has strengthened the team and extended its scope of services. Dr.-Ing. Silke Appel took over the technical lead of the new branch office. Dr. Appel has many years of experience in the whole field of subsoil and structural dynamics, traffic vibrations and seismic calculations. Her dissertation has the title "Influence of the stiffness of subsoil and foundation on the screening of rail traffic vibrations by means of elastomer mats".

Dr. Silke Appel points out: "The Büro für Baudynamik has provided practical and economically feasible solutions in building dynamics for 30 years. We will continue that tradition smoothly and will steadily extend our scope of services."

Since the beginning of 2011, Dr.-Ing. Andreas Gömmel is part of the team. He has studied civil engineering and acoustics at the RWTH in Aachen and done scientific work on these subjects. His dissertation was about a subject from the field of biomechanics. Dipl.-Ing. Stefan Alber came from Müller-BBM’s branch office in Reutlingen and now represents Müller-BBM in Stuttgart since June 2011. He is an expert on the field of low-noise road surfaces – a field which increasingly becomes the focus of interest of municipalities, representations of states and building contractors due to the newly introduced Directive on Environmental Noise.
