Dust emissions from heavy vehicle traffic on paved industrial roads - calculation of emission factors

Publication in collaboration of Axel Rühling from the Karlsruhe branch in "Hazardous Substances - Air Pollution" 76 (2016) - No. 7/8 -. July / August (page 283-288).

To calculate emission factors for dust emissions from heavy vehicle traffic on paved industrial roads the regulation VDI 3790 part 3 refers to a method of calculation of the United States Environmental Protection Agency AP-42 Directive. To verify the applicability and limitations of this method of calculation the new regulation VDI 3790 part 4 will be written which will replace the corresponding section in the guideline VDI 3790 part 3. During the preparation of the new VDI regulation, the AP-42-formula for paved roads was reviewed using the original datasets and compared with the measurement results of a joint study by the State Office for Nature, Environment and Consumer Protection of North Rhine-Westphalia and the University of Wuppertal.
