EU research project "FlowAirS" completed

From 2012 to 2015, Müller-BBM has participated in a research project within the Inititial Training Networks (ITN) Marie Curie Actions funded by the European Union: "FlowAirS: Silent Air Flows in Transport, Buildings and Power Generation". Within work package "Aeroacoustics of noise reducing devices for power plant applications" Müller-BBM has investigated self-generated noise in silencers installed in power plants and the aero-acoustic properties of different silencer designs. As an industrial partner, Müller-BBM could establish a connection to real-life applications and complement and verify the results of theoretical models and numerical simulations by measurements at our own test stands and in field tests in actual plants. The results of the project will be applied in the further investigation of aero-acoustic phenomena and in the development and optimization of silencers.
