Expansion of laboratory services – indoor air analyses for VOCs

Since May 2025, we have expanded our range of analytical services at our headquarters. Under the direction of Dr. Jasmin Haberl, the experienced laboratory team has established the methods and analysis procedures previously offered by GfU Gesellschaft für Umweltchemie Analytik – Begutachtung – Forschung mbH for indoor air samples using solvent desorption and thermal desorption for VOCs (volatile organic compounds) in Planegg. For this purpose, a special area was created in the laboratory to integrate the adopted analysis systems and methods into the existing laboratory operations. The founders of GfU in Munich, Margit Reiner and Helmut Santl, have discontinued laboratory operations as of 1st March 2024 and will focus on consulting services related to indoor pollutants in the future.

The following methods for the analytical determination of VOCs are now offered by Müller-BBM Industry Solutions GmbH:

Indoor air samples using solvent desorption

  • Test procedure based on VDI 2100 Sheet 2
  • Active sampling: carrier material: Anasorb 747 226-81A or Anasorb 747 226-83 from SKC
  • Accredited procedure according to DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025 since February 2025

Room air samples using thermal desorption

  • Test procedure according to DIN EN ISO 16000 Sheet 5 and DIN EN ISO 16000 Sheet 6
  • Active sampling: carrier material: Tenax® prepared by the laboratory

The thermal desorption technology developed by GfU has also been taken over by Müller-BBM Industry Solutions GmbH.
