Müller-BBM expert discussions in Berlin once again receive a lot of praise for the format.
Against the background of the energy crisis and its effects, not least on approval procedures, sustainability issues as well as air pollution control and noise immission control, the 17th Müller-BBM expert discussions took place on 5th/6th October 2022 in Berlin.
In his opening speech, Robert Gampfer, representative of the European Commission and political advisor for environment, climate, energy, agriculture and health, explained the EU Zero Pollution Plan and Green Deal. The EU Commission's proposals for updating and modernising the Industrial Emissions Directive were met with a mixed response. According to the EU Commission, the updated regulations are intended to help steer industrial investment in the direction needed for Europe's transition to a pollution-free, competitive and climate-neutral economy by 2050. Both industry and administration representatives questioned the envisaged thresholds, the measures and the associated (administrative) burden.
In the dialogue forum of the expert discussions with twelve specialist lectures and diverse discussions, the participants informed themselves for two days about current topics of immission control as well as future changes.
