Leaflet “Construction Noise” – Guideline for building owners/customers, planners and building companies

In cooperation with Müller-BBM who took care of acoustic issues, the leaflet „Construction Noise“ was published by the Verein zur Förderung fairer Bedingungen am Bau e.V. together with the Hauptverband der Deutschen Bauindustrie e.V. (Bundesfachabteilung Spezialtiefbau) and the CBTR Centrum für Deutsches und Internationales Baugrund- und Tiefbaurecht e.V. in August 2016.

Often, the inevitably low distance between a construction site and the local residents holds potential for conflicts. On 40 pages, the reader gets information on how to achieve a balancing of the interests of all parties concerned by means of an adequate planning. However, it has to be pointed out that under certain conditions the residents just have to put up with inevitable construction noise. This makes it all the more important that the building owner gets an overview of the conflict potential as early as possible.

Administrative orders or court orders issued as a result of complaints about construction noise during the current construction operation practically always lead to additional costs and often also to time delays.

By following the leaflet “Construction Noise”, it is possible to minimize this risk.
