Plaque of Honour of the VDI for dedication in Guide Lines “Emissions of gases, odours und dusts from diffusive sources”

On 5 October 2016, the Commission for Air Pollution Control (KRdL) in the VDI and DIN organized the VDI Expert Forum for Particulate Matter in the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Building and Nuclear Safety in Bonn.

In recognition of his long-time honorary dedication for VDI Guidelines, especially for the topic determination and dispersion of emissions from diffuse sources, Dipl.-Met. Axel Rühling (Müller-BBM GmbH, Branch Office Karlsruhe), was acclaimed by Wolfgang J. Müller, chairman of the Department of Environmental Meteorology of the KRdL.

About 70 experts discussed in the Expert Forum mainly the topic "Soot in Airborne Particles". The VDI demands a reduction of the soot emissions and compreshensive measurements of soot – of soot as elementary and organic carbon - and a further investigation of Black Carbon.
