Emergency watches are designed to offer older people more security when they are out and about or alone at home. When the emergency button on the watch is pressed, the stored contacts receive a text message with the location and a phone call. Our ʺTestʺ department has supported the German TV channel Südwestfunk (SWR) in its investigation of emergency watches. For the programme ʺMarktcheckʺ, our colleague Jonas Fischer thoroughly examined the properties of the three watches and categorised their capabilities and limitations in an interview.
