Measurement, calculation, dispersion modelling and assessment of emissions and ambient air quality

Emissions and Immissions

Emissions from commercial establishments and industrial plants, including pollutants, are a side effect of economic development in our country. To protect the environment, the legislature has specified guidelines and emission limits, and has made it mandatory for operators to carry out regular measurements to prove that emissions are being kept within these limits. These measurements must be performed by a notified body according to § 29b of the Federal Emission Control Act (Bundes-Immissionsschutzgesetz (BImSchG)).

As a notified testing body according to § 29b BImSchG, we perform measurements of pollutant concentrations for operators in the context of Müller-BBM Industry Solutions GmbH  “Emission measurement technology” division. Our clients operate power plants, garbage incineration plants, chemical plants and refineries. Certain run smaller operations such as paint spraying shops, foundries or even plants for curing meat products. Depending upon the task, either simple cumulative measurement methods are used for determining dust and organic pollutants, or complex measurement methods are used for the sampling of individual components with elaborate laboratory methods for determining the concentration of mercury or dioxins.

If the pollutants emitted by a plant exceed the specified mass flows, then the operators are obliged to continuously monitor the concentrations of these pollutants with stationary measurement equipment. High demands are therefore placed on these measurement equipment in terms of availability and accuracy of the results. As a notified testing body according to § 29b BImSchG, we are able to perform the required annual functional tests and triennial calibrations on such equipment.

In this highly sensitive area of testing, you can safely rely on the independence, experience and the expertise of Müller-BBM Industry Solutions GmbH. Our publicly appointed and sworn technical experts, including our technical experts for "air-borne emissions from combustion processes" gladly place their services at your disposal.

It goes without saying that we offer the support you need with our extensive and modern measurement equipment for all types of production or process-related technical issues.
