On 15th July 2010, the Müller-BBM Holding AG celebrated the completion and inauguration of the sixth and largest construction stage at its company headquarters in Planegg near Munich. On this occasion, on behalf of all affiliated companies managing director Rolf Michelsen greeted numerous guests from the fields of politics, administration, industry and media. Mr. Michelsen thanked all authorities, companies and employees involved in the planning and construction of the new building.

With an investment of more than 12 million euro, 150 additional offices were built at the company site in Planegg. Rolf Michelsen says: "We have created very pleasant and inspiring surroundings with state-of-the-art technical facilities, and thus have set the course for a further growth of our group of companies". Already one year after the roofing ceremony in April 2009, the number of employees in Planegg has risen from 250 to more than 300.

The building, which was designed by the architectural office and winner of the competition, the company BMBW Architekten BDA + Partner, in an especially attractive way, has a floor area of about 4,800 m² for offices and lecture halls which are provided with state-of-the-art audio-visual equipment. A light-flooded restaurant offers a suitable ambiance for lunch and coffee breaks. The newly constructed basement garage offers space for 55 cars and the new bicycle garage has space for 40 additional bicycles.

The Müller-BBM engineers involved in the planning especially turned their attention to a resource-saving façade and building technology as well as to state-of-the-art media technology. The particularly energy-efficient building is heated with a heat pump using ground water and via thermo-active concrete cores. The transmission heat requirement falls below the maximum permissible value according to the Energy Saving Regulation by 45 % and the annual primary energy requirement falls below the maximum permissible value by 23 %.

In the large lecture hall, the electronic room acoustics system Vivace developed by Müller-BBM is used, also for the purpose of demonstration. By means of this technology, it is possible to adjust the acoustics in function rooms to different kinds of events, for example by an electronic extension of the reverberation time.
