Certified Occupational Health and Safety Management System (AMS) according to OHSAS 18001:2007 – Safety for employees and clients

For many years now the management of occupational health and safety has been an integral part of Müller-BBM GmbH’s company policy and has been set down in a Quality, Occupational Safety and Health Manual. The management regards occupational safety and health of their employees as an essential prerequisite to achieve the company objectives.

Apart from the employees, also the clients benefit from this attitude. As the activities of all employees of the company are recorded and evaluated using the Occupational Health and Safety Management System AMS and the corresponding trainings and occupational health examinations are carried out regularly, a high degree of awareness for an early detection of possible risks and security gaps results.

Activities carried out by engineers and technicians in industrial plants or on the clients’ construction sites require a strict and consistent implementation of measures to avoid or minimize the risks involved with the respective task.

This includes the use of continuously checked working equipment and last minute risk assessments as well as, for example, current suitability tests for working at heights, the handling of personal protective equipment against falls from a height or the use of respiratory protective equipment for employees involved in emission measurements.

Naturally, if requested by the client all required documents can be submitted before a measurement or evaluation and can become a part of the contract.

The effectiveness of all described measures and regulations have been confirmed within the scope of evaluation by the Employer’s Liability Insurance Association (VBG). This comprises all sites of the company. Within the framework of an audit, it could be certified that the requirements on systematic and effective occupational safety are met on the basis of the “AMS – Arbeitsschutz mit System” and thus NLF / ILO-OSH 2001. In addition, evidence has been provided that the requirements according to the Occupational Health and Safety Assessment Series OHSAS 18001:2007 are fulfilled.

Occupational safety of their employees is a key issue at Müller-BBM.

Contractors of measuring and engineering services in sensitive areas and for complex tasks, for example in the field of air pollution control, noise control and the handling of hazardous substances, use the combination of a measuring facility accredited according to ISO 17025 and notified in accordance with § 29b BImSchG with a certified AMS for their own safety in statutorily regulated cases.
