Discussion of environmental policy issues on the occasion of the IHK Environmental Dialogue 2023

On 5th July, the IHK Academy Munich and Upper Bavaria hosted the "IHK Environmental Dialogue 2023". Minister of the Environment Thorsten Glauber discussed current challenges concerning environmental policy developments with representatives from business and science. Our managing director Walter Grotz moderated one of six workshops. He also gave the initial lecture on the topic of "Current developments in immission control, taking into account the conflicting priorities of climate protection, environmental protection and nature conservation". The focus was on areas of conflict arising from restrictions under immission control law, for example the restrictions imposed by distance regulations when approving urgently needed renewable energy plants or corresponding production facilities. Associated land sealing can also be in conflict with environmental considerations.
